  The P&S Gravity Amenability Test

P&S have developed a fast indicator test to evaluate gravity recovery potential before the decision is made to ship large bulk samples. The test utilizes a mineralogist's mineral table to make separations according to settings that have been standardized to make for consistent and simple interpretation. The test not only gives a pulse on gravity potential, but also an indicator on which of the P&S facilities would be best suited to undertake the bulk sample work.

Requiring just a 500 gram sample, the results should be taken as neither absolute nor representative, but they nevertheless provide a wealth of information upon the "character" of the sample. For example, the test gives an indication of the ultimate grade of a gravity concentrate and also identifies any competing mineral which may displace the target mineral in a continuous process. A reasonable idea of recovery potential is also generated along with the corresponding grade.  The procedure costs far less than even a GRG test and may save its value well beyond the test costs.

The major benefit of the test is that the small samples can be easily shipped via courier and the results electronically dispatched within days.

Using Gravity to Tame Norway’s Fjords
Tackling the fjords of Norway would be daunting to any one, in any discipline. The ancestral terrain of the Vikings, however, proves especially intimidating for the mining industry, which is constrained by regulations in the use of chemicals in Scandinavia’s glorious geographical wonder.
